Lindquist Development buys former Land O Lakes Central Eastside Site

You may have tasted their butter of other fine dairy products which help produce $16 billion in sales for Land O'Lakes Corporation. When they closed down a recent animal feed operation in Portland and wanted to sell their surplus site they turned to Cascade Commercial Real Estate. Though having a national relationship with a large natiional brokerage, Land O'Lakes chose Todd and Cascade Commercial because of the experience and knowledge of the close in markets and the ability to market and sell unique properties.

With a rare larger close in site, the property also had some challenges with a dilapadated older warehouse, multiple old huge mixing silos and some environmental issues. It is difficult to find large close in industrial sites in Portland and that is one of the reasons a 2.5 acre site just south of Powell attracted the attention of Stuart Lindquist who owns multiple buldings in Portland. He also liked challenges and projects which made some of the potential drawbacks less important. It tooks lots of analysis, give-and-take and multiple negotiations but the deal finally got done with Lindquist closing the $2.3 million transction and is quickly looking to take down the old silos and clean up the site for a quality renovation to attract multiple new tenants.
